Bio:  Michael first started competitive cycling at the age of 15.  In that first year, he managed to beat a few of his friends and won the 1988  Washington state road race championships.  In the following years he won two more state championships, swam for Peninsula High School in Gig Harbor, WA, was the President of the Oregon State University cycling club, attempted to complete the Furnace Creek 508, and avoided running unless being chased.  In 2008 he competed in his first Triathlon on a dare.

Bio:  Lauren grew up swimming in pools, the Pacific and area lakes. She joined the Multnomah Athletic Club swim team at the age of 8 and at her first meet she broke the meet record in the 25 yard butterfly.  This was just the beginning of a long and successful career that included multiple national championships as a member of Stanford University’s swim team.    She retired from competitive swimming after college but remained active in the sport through coaching and participation in triathlon.   At the Age of 27 – Lauren launched a comeback and teamed up with her childhood swim coach – ultimately qualifying for the 2007 Pan-American games as a member of the US national swim team.  She is now the Pacific Northwest sales representative for TYR.

Name: Brendan

Hometown: Missoula, MT

Bio: Brendan started racing triathlons back in 2003 upon entering school at the University of Montana.  In 2007 he led his team to a national championship.  Since graduating college he has taken his training and racing to the next level.  Early this year he won the amateur race at Wildflower long course triathlon missing the overall amateur course record by just two minutes.  After that impressive result he stepped up to the big show and now races as a professional.  He had a great first year as a professional and is looking forward to next year.
